Combe Martin School – SEN Teaching Assistant Temporary post

Closing on: Aug 31, 2026

Grade B (£13.05 – £13.26  per hour) – 32.5 hours per week  (term time only) – Temporary

Combe Martin Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to
join our friendly and supportive team on a temporary basis until October half term.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a small coastal school where children are at the heart of everything we do
and where staff work closely together to ensure every pupil is supported to achieve their best.

The successful candidate will provide targeted 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, under the direction of
the Head Teacher and class teacher. The role will focus on helping the child access learning, engage positively in
school life and develop their social, emotional and communication skills. This will include supporting learning
activities within the classroom, adapting approaches where appropriate, and implementing agreed strategies to
meet the child's individual needs.

We are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and adaptable, with the ability to build positive relationships
with children and work effectively as part of a team. Experience of supporting children with additional needs and/or
working within an early years or primary setting would be advantageous.

Strong communication skills, a positive and proactive approach, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting
the welfare of children are essential.

Combe Martin Primary School offers a welcoming and inclusive ethos, a supportive team and opportunities to
develop your skills and experience. If you are passionate about making a difference to children’s lives and would enjoy being part of a close-knit school community, we would be delighted to hear from you.

This is a temporary position until October half term and will be reviewed at that point.
